Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church
This week’s daily prayer for October 31 to November 6 is submitted by Pastor Al.
“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled.” – Luke 6:21
“We know that people cannot live by bread alone, but also that they cannot live without bread.” - Unknown
Daily Prayer
Bread of life, we come before you on behalf of the hungry, near and far.
We pray against the new bill that has taken food from the tables of millions of Americans.
Fill the hungry with physical and spiritual nourishment, O Lord, and empower us to be a source of both in our neighborhoods and around the world.
In Jesus’ name….
Good Bye, Mike and Cindy Peterson
We are grateful for the 40 years that Mike and Cindy have been a part of Grace Fellowship Community Church. We look forward to how God will be blessing them as they move to Santa Rosa.

Special Love Feast and Dessert: Honoring Our School District Workers—Retired and Still Serving
We had a chance to thank our dedicated school workers last week. What a blessing as we had good food, a great ice cream bar and poetry on top of that!
For those of you who missed the lunch or would like to read all the poetic tributes, here is the link.

The second session of Journeying Together will take place after Sunday service on November 2. Pastor Al will be leading a discussion on “Spiritual Gifts.” We will be looking at Spiritual Gifts, not just exclusively for the building of the church, but for the transformation of the world. A light snack will be provided.
While Journeying Together was initially a gathering for the church’s new members, the idea of Spiritual Gifts pertains to everyone. So all are invited to attend.
Urbana Dessert Night, Friday, November 7, 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Church

Students will testify to how God has been at work this semester, lead worship, and share their hopes from Urbana.
Join us on November 7th from 6:30-7:30 in the church courtyard. Please contact Brenden Gutierrez-Graczak if you have any questions.

Grace Fellowship Community Church Anniversary Potluck Celebration, Sunday, November 16
On November 16, Grace Fellowship will be celebrating its 42nd anniversary!
42 years ago, on Sunday, November 20, 1983, 30+ members from the Chinatown Cumberland Presbyterian Church worshipped together for the first time as Grace Fellowship Community Church at Portalhurst Presbyterian Church in the Sunset district of San Francisco.

Volunteer for the Food Pantry
The government has been shut down for a month now. Federal employees are missing paychecks and the SNAP food assistance program is running out of money. This means that the San Francisco Marin Food Bank is facing challenges in providing enough for those who are food insecure.
We will probably see a surge of families needing help in obtaining food. If you can volunteer with the Saturday food pantry, please do so by signing up.

Christmas Tree Theme
We will be redecorating our church Christmas Tree this year. Our new theme is "For God so Loved the World." The youth will be making a garland with the theme in different languages and we will still use some of our chrismons.
We would like the congregation to donate ornaments that you make or purchase. It would be great if we can have ornaments from all around the world. We will be collecting ornaments soon.
Please contact Linda Kay or Lisa Balzer if you have any questions.
Christmas Church Directory
Each year, there is a request from congregants to send out a new directory. (The last one was published in 2016!) The staff is working on publishing a directory of regular attendees of our church service.
If you are a regular attendee of our church and do not wish to have your contact information shared, please contact the church office at office@gfccsf.org and indicate your wish to opt out of this directory.
The directory will only be given out upon request.
Freedom Stories
We have been blessed hearing Freedom Stories from our brothers and sisters in our congregation. Let this be an open invitation to anyone who wants to share his/her freedom story with the congregation; please contact Pastors Al or Paul.
